Yoga and Art fun for your little ones in Station Hall, Herne Hill and Brockwell Park

Your children are invited to spend their holidays practising yoga, getting creative and having lots of summer fun

Throughout the camps your children will:

  • learn yoga postures

  • practise fun yoga sequences based around familiar themes, popular children’s books and films

  • try out partner yoga poses and group poses

  • explore mindful creative techniques

  • get creative and crafty and follow their imaginations!

  • learn specific art techniques daily covering a wide range of mediums from screen printing to sewing

  • indulge in daily relaxation and calm time including sensory massage, mindful meditations and visualisations

  • enjoy outside play and free play activities in Brockwell Park

  • plus music, dancing, singing, games and much more…

The ethos of my camps; CREATE, HAVE FUN and PLAY

  • Collection of small painted paper squares with colorful abstract designs, overlapping orange tape or stickers, arranged on a wooden surface.

    Process art and focused art

I am passionate about process art…. the focus being on enjoying the PROCESS of creating and not the outcome. It’s so wonderful to get lost in the state of ‘flow’ happily exploring and learning… the ultimate mindful activity. However I do also think that a focused art project is hugely important for children too. Through focused art activities children can acquire new art skills and create something they wouldn’t have been able to do independently.

At my camps there will always be a mix of the two types of art for your kids to enjoy.

  • Group of children performing a group acro-yoga pose in a classroom or indoor play area, with some on the floor and others balancing on top, smiling and enjoying.

    Yoga

There is always an hour long yoga class each day for the children to attend. These classes cover mindfulness, movement and relaxation in fun and engaging ways for children. Storytelling, music, games and partner work feature heavily in my classes. The yoga is accessible for all and there is always lots of encouragement for children to continue practicing yoga throughout the day utilising props and accessories such as yoga cards, massage tools, wishing blankets and much more.

  • Four children are creating a colorful street scene with paper, markers, and craft materials outdoors on a sidewalk and artificial grass, with a large painted backdrop of a cityscape.

    Play

Open ended play fills in the gaps between yoga and art. I very much reside with the Montessori theory, that play is seen as the fundamental work of a child, a vital process for learning and development.

It's a purposeful activity where children explore their environment, develop skills, and express themselves, all while engaging in activities they find enjoyable. Throughout the day we also offer group games, singing rhyme games and parachute games for children to take part in if they wish.

  • My child loves Laura's Yoga Camps! They have lots of fun! enjoy the different activities and are always eager to go back! I feel comfortable leaving them at the camp with Laura and her colleagues as they so clearly enjoy being there. Also, Laura has definitely inspired them both as they have been practising their new yoga poses, and singing the songs they have learnt at home, thank you Laura! here

  • My son has only been to a few holiday clubs having just finished his reception year, but Laura’s yoga is his favourite and the only one he had asked to return to. He comes out and I can see he is buzzing, plus he is covered in the most wonderful face paint and laden with super imaginative creations! Laura obviously puts in so much creative effort to make the club different from others and my son gets so much enjoyment from it.
